Amy and Sean were very gracious hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed lounging around their pool, soaking in the hot tub, and generally doing what you're supposed to do while on vacation. We stopped for some cactus pictures on the way there.

Matt and Theresa showed us around Lake Havesu, including the famous London Bridge. In 1968, Robert McCulloch (of McCulloch Oil) bought the bridge that had been slowly sinking into the Thames River in London and had it disassembled and moved to Lake Havesu (source: Matt). Matt and Tee took us boating on the Colorado River, giving most of us our first view of California.

We got to spend several days with my Dad, where we hiked into the mountains (up Miller's Peak, but not to the top), went for walks, laid by the pool, and just kicked back some. Marita was very informative about the local fauna and the history of the town.

Dad and Marita took us into Tombstone, where the legendary "Gunfight at OK Coral" took place. Not everyone was a fan of the Earps, as it turns out. The Crystal Palace is a saloon that has been in continuous operation there since 1879. The town has of course been commercialized, with lots of gift shops, but it was a lot of fun.
